I adopted a kitten when he was only about 2-3 weeks old. He was found at a construction site with his 3 other brothers orphaned. I've raised this kitten since then and he thinks he's a human baby sometimes but he is the most loveable thing around. His name is Dr. Seuss.
Well, needless to say, this poor thing, who was born in the wild, was infested with some fleas. The icky nasty little buggers who like to be mini vampires to helpless animals. Needless to say again, I took affirmative action immediately only to find that nothing in the stores was safe for this little guy. Everything was marketed as being safe for 5 lbs + or 12 weeks of age +.
So, I did some research. Apparently, the little vampires hate Limonene and it kills them pretty instantly. And, what in nature has this? Lemons. They are chock full of it naturally. Not only does it kill the buggers, but it also heals the existing flea bites and soothes them so that they are not itchy for the little kitten.
To do this, you will need a pot of water, a lemon and a spray bottle.
Directions:
Be aware that this does take a little while but I used it on my 3 week old kitten and it worked. I also used it on a neighbors dog who was badly infested and within one application, there was a significant difference and decline in vampire bug attacks. Needless to say, as you can see in the picture, he is a happy kitten.
